Hi, I'm Yi, though I go by Jerry!
I'm currently pursuing my MSc in Accounting and Finance at the London School of Economics, having obtained a BSc in Economics and Management from King's College London. I scored 42/45 in the IB, with 7s in Higher Level Maths AA, Chemistry, and Economics, so I know exactly what top grades require and how to help you get there.
I've tutored since 2022 across one-to-one and group settings, though I now specialise in one-to-one teaching. I've worked with students at every stage, from primary school through to university, in Maths, Economics, Physics, and Chemistry, across Edexcel and AQA at GCSE, iGCSE and A-Level, as well as IB. I've also mentored students through university applications, helping them secure offers to study Finance at Bocconi and PPE at Warwick, to name a few.
This range means I'm comfortable adapting to a student's age, confidence level and exam board.
I see learning as built in tiers, first a baseline understanding of the content, then knowing how to apply it, and finally understanding how it's tested. Everyone starts from a different point and needs something different, whether that's support alongside school learning or focused exam preparation in the run-up to exams. I tailor each session to the individual, so students leave not just knowing the answer, but understanding why it's the answer.

Yi, is a solid Alevel economic tutor, who tutored my 17yrs old nephew. Yi was very patient, tailored the lessons accordingly, ensured homework was set and written feedback was given after each lessons. In short his expertise coupled with his ability to connect with the student resulted in a student first approach, his youth also enabled my nephew to built a good communication. Highly recommended.

Jerry is very useful as an economics tutor, and has helped me prepare for multiple school tests and end of term exams. He is able to explain the content very well and gives good advice on how to approach questions and what the IB is looking for. As well as this, he also occasionally helps with maths, which is useful especially when it involves going through past school tests.
