Kate was genuinely an academic lifeline for our family when she began tutoring our son. He had struggled with English language and comprehension for several years and needed a tutor who could help him make sense of English grammar, spelling and phonics. Kate worked with him to develop both his reading and written English skills as well as giving him some much-needed confidence. The result was a marked improvement across all of his subjects. Once his written language improved, he was much more able to communicate the depth of his ideas and thinking. Something which had held him back and left him frustrated in school previously. Even though all of his lessons were virtual, Kate was able to build a really strong trust bond with him which was impressive and enormously effective in helping him to learn. As a direct result of Kate's influence he is more confident in school, enjoys reading so much more and is able to communicate complex ideas in writing fluently and confidently. We would not hesitate to recommend her, she's a real gift!

We live abroad, so Kate conducts the sessions over Zoom, which works brilliantly. Kate draws up very detailed, engaging lesson materials and provides thoughtful, helpful feedback on my child's progress all the way. Due to differences in curriculum etc... my child had a lot of catching up to do, but Kate knew just what to do, where to start and how to develop the skills and knowledge my child needed -- my child has already learnt an enormous amount in a short space of time.

We came to Kate in February '19 after our daughter's year 5 teacher called us to school to tell us she had fallen badly behind in Maths. We immediately started a weekly tuition programme with Kate and below are the results of that investment : Her end of Year 5 school report congratulated her on her much improved Maths The first Year 6 Maths test returned an impressive 84% (previous scores were in the low 60s) She has been placed in the upper group in Year 6 streamed Maths We have Kate to thank for this marvellous turnaround.

Kate has immediately helped my son's confidence for his forthcoming 11+ exams. She's been extremely patient, encouraging and thorough, and has achieved more in a short space of time that I could have hoped for in both Maths and English.

Kate was kind, straightforward, punctual and organised. She explained things very clearly to my 13 year old son who found the lessons really helpful. Kate also sent me a detailed ‘report’ about what they had covered in the 3 hours (on separate occasions) of tutoring and how the sessions had gone. I found this very helpful too.
