I am a fully qualified and highly experienced maths tutor. I have held lead roles for the National Centre for excellence in Teaching Maths ( NCETM) . I have been a maths lecturer and national maths teacher trainer. Training teachers to teach Functional and up to GCSE level Maths. I have written maths qualifications and have been a moderator for awarding bodies. As a professional tutor I am kind, supportive and am even able to make Maths fun. I take the fear out of maths and make it easier to understand. Many of my students look forward to maths. I have lots of experience of dyslexia too so am able be totally learner centered. I work with all ages including adults up to GCSE. I also support learners working towards the 11+ and functional skills qualifications.

Tutoring Approach
I am able to make maths understandable and even fun. Learners gain confidence not only in maths but this leads to success in other subjects too. I have lots of different methods to make lessons fun and interactive. Many students look forward to maths. I am happy to work with learners of all ages and abilities up to GCSE. This can be a one off lesson and a series of lessons whatever works best. I am very patient and have lots of experience of working with learners with dyslexia too. I teach online globally via zoom and in person locally too.

Annmarie has been fantastic for our son's 11+ preparation. She has a structured approach but always keeps sessions engaging, bringing games and fresh activities that really capture his interest. She's incredibly positive and motivating, and our son genuinely looks forward to his sessions with her. He is also motivated to do the work in preparation for his tutoring sessions! Highly recommended.

Annmarie was incredible with our daughter throughout the period of time she taught her Maths. My daughter is Dyslexic but this was not a problem. Very flexible tutor and willing to put in extra time when needed, esp' during the run up to GCSE's. Our daughter passed and we all truly believe this is because of Annmarie. Could not recommend highly enough.
