Hi, I'm Sofia, a Psychology undergraduate at Newcastle University with a passion for helping students achieve their potential. I have experience across multiple essay-based subjects, including Psychology, Sociology, History, and English Literature, which allows me to support students with skills that transfer across subjects, such as critical thinking, essay writing, and argument development. Having struggled with A-Level Psychology myself, I understand how overwhelming the content and exam questions can feel. Because I recently completed the course, I have an up-to-date and familiar understanding of the specification, the most common pitfalls students face, and the exam techniques needed to achieve top grades while balancing multiple subjects. Through targeted support and effective study techniques, I improved from Cs and Ds to an A* and went on to study Psychology at university.

Alongside my academic background, I also have tutoring experience supporting students in essay-based subjects. This has included helping students improve their understanding of key content, strengthen essay structure, and develop exam technique in a way that leads to measurable grade improvement. I’ve worked with students of different abilities, adapting my approach to suit their learning style and confidence level.

My tutoring focuses on both mastering content and developing exam technique. Many students know the material but lose marks because they don't know exactly what examiners are looking for. I help students:
