I am a fully qualified, experienced teacher of A Level Psychology and an experienced examiner for a leading examination board (AQA). As such, I am able to help learners maximise their potential using targeted revision and examination techniques to attract marks in the most efficient and effective way. Indeed, the Psychology department in Cheshire, in which I was a key member for 15 years, was consistently recognised for its excellence in teaching and innovation, resulting in outstanding learner feedback and success rate.

Teaching Experience
I have an established track record of developing and implementing teaching and learning resources to deliver challenging, supportive and rewarding learning sessions, where my aim is to raise students' achievements beyond their expectations. I am currently developing my own learning resources to incorporate augmented reality in the classroom providing engaging content and interaction for learners. For example, by triggering an image of a neuron, biopsychology comes to life through video, opening up a whole new world of learning opportunities. I believe that augmented reality content can create exciting learning experiences and endless learning possibilities which speak to the needs of visual learners, but specifically target learners who conventionally underachieve due to a lack of engagement.
Tutoring Approach
My tutoring aims to instill confidence, is stimulating, engaging and tailored to a tutee's individual needs. I provide a bespoke service where tutees receive one-to-one support, interactive workbooks, examination papers, mark schemes and other relevant resources. Guidance can also be provided on how to manage revision and workload. I am happy to provide either one-to-one personal tuition at my home in Cheshire, or online sessions via Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, for those learners who are comfortable with distance learning. I have been tutoring privately since September 2016 and have found being able to provide extra academic support in this way to be incredibly rewarding as I witness real, measurable progress in learners.

I would highly recommend Gill. My daughter really enjoyed her Psychology sessions which were very engaging. Gill took the time to explain topics in an easy to understand way and was a great help in the lead up to my daughters A Level exams. She gained the results she needed and is now off to university to study Psychology. Fantastic tutor !

My daughter has been working with Gill for the last two years in the run up to her A level Psychology exams, as this is her chosen career path and she really wanted to do well. We have been so impressed with Gill’s extensive knowledge and teaching experience. Having tutored for a number of years Gill was able to hone in on the important areas in the various topics. She guided my daughter through the techniques and methods for exams questions giving her confidence to answer them fully. Gill is an incredible tutor! My daughter got an E in the A-Level Psychology Mock but with Gill's incredible tuition managed to achieve a C as her final grade. There is no doubt that without Gill's tuition this would not have been possible.
