I have a doctorate in geology/geophysics & geochemistry from Oxford University, and over 25 years' tuition experience in both mathematics & respective branches of the natural sciences up to A Level and beyond.

I tutor 1:1 in and occasionally in small classes; and tutor about 15 students a year - mainly A Level Maths & Chemistry and GCSE Maths. I have done this since I finished my doctorate. I am familiar with all examination boards and their subtle differences in both questions and mark schemes. I mainly travel tutor to students in their homes as this is more convenient , but can also do Zoom / Teams tuition

Principally, I am results-focused for the students to reach their individual subject goal.

This will be achieved by simplifying - and reconstructing - learning pathways for topics which the students find challenging; and subsequently developing knowledge through effective interaction and providing an eclectic outlook on the subject . I will of course provide them with practical tips and techniques, to maximise examination scores.

To enhance the learning experience, I do like to keep the tuition enthusiastic, upbeat and enjoyable - using plenty of worked examples and pictures/diagrams/practical demos.
