My name is Jonathan and I have been a private mathematics tutor since May 2015. In that time, I have tutored over 100 students ranging in ages from the beginning of Secondary School through to GCSE, A Levels and University Maths with a wide range of abilities from those aiming to achieve a pass in GCSE Maths to those participating in later rounds of the Senior Maths challenge.

Teaching Experience

Amongst my students this year are some students from top independent schools: St Pauls, Brighton College, Wycombe Abbey and City of London; and top grammar/selective schools: Henrietta Barnett and Mill Hill County. And in the last couple of years I have also helped students from Dulwich College, NLCS, Highgate School, South Hampstead, Putney High, Godolphin & Latymer, Tiffin and QE Boys through to the end of their GCSEs and A Levels.

As a tutor, I would be able to provide maths tuition for the student's whole time at secondary school.

Tutoring Approach

My past experience allows me to adapt my style based on the students strengths and weaknesses, whereby I can provide more basic support in topics they struggle on and provide them with greater challenge in topics they are comfortable with to stretch their understanding.

Jonathan is an amazing tutor who can really break down topics and make them clearer to understand. In our lessons, I'm encouraged to attempt the questions first myself, which helps me apply the topic to exam questions but also a way for me to remember the steps for future problems. He has helped me a considerable amount in maths and would highly recommend him for maths, especially A-level maths.

Jonathan is a wonderful maths tutor who has been able to explain concepts very clearly and has really helped me improve in maths. In lessons, I am encouraged to think through problems by myself (under guidance, with full explanations when I can't solve a question), which promotes active learning and helps me to remember the steps in order to solve similar problems in the future. I really recommend Jonathan as a maths tutor, particularly for A level maths.

Jonathan is a brilliant tutor! We had hired Jonathan to tutor our daughter on A-Level Maths back in April 24 when she was working at Grade-C level. Her understanding & conception of the Pure Maths & Applied Maths topic significantly increased after taking tuition from Jonathan and now she's operating at Grade-A level or higher (after 9 months). Jonathan explained things in a very nice way and make things simple to understand. He also provides lecture notes after every tuition session to keep a trail of what has been covered and also helps with the practice of past papers. I would highly recommend Jonathan for any Maths related tuition.
