Hi, my name is Josh and I am a fully qualified NHS doctor who graduated from Imperial College London. I was awarded the President's Scholarship by Imperial in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and achieved Distinctions in Medical Science and Clinical Practice. I also hold a First Class intercalated degree in Endocrinology and a Level 2 Personal Trainer Qualification which has also deepened my understanding of how the body and mind perform under pressure which is relevant to helping students prepare for high stakes exams.
The joy I get from teaching does not stop at the classroom. As a doctor, I find myself explaining and simplifying complex information every day whether that is to patients to understand their diagnosis or to medical students with difficult concepts on the ward. The same skill underpins both - meeting someone where they are and helping them take the next step.
I also think it's important to be honest that I am still learning too. Medicine is humbling in that way, there is always something new to read, a case that surprises you, or a question from a student that makes you rethink. My favourite teacher used to capture this with what he called the four Ts: teaching teaches the teacher. I've found that to be true every single time, and I try to bring that same curiosity into every session.
Whether you are preparing for A-levels, university entrance, or medical school itself, I would love to help you build not only knowledge but the system - the habits, frameworks and mindset that make the real difference.
