I am a 45 year old maths teacher with over 20 years of experience in teaching, education & tutoring. I have wanted to teach from a young age (weirdly!) and see it as a way of giving something back to the local community, as well as having a keen knowledge & enthusiasm for my subject.

I undertook a 3 year teaching degree at Liverpool John Moores University between 2000 and 2003 and graduated with a 2:1 with honours in Key Stage 2/3 Mathematics education. My teaching qualification means that I am fully qualified to teach maths between the ages of 11 to 18, in addition to being able to teach upper primary pupils, although it had been nearly 10 years since I last taught in a primary classroom! I also have A Levels in IT, English Language & Literature, Pure Maths & Statistics, General Studies and French in addition to my teaching degree. I am also a trained exam marker for OCR, marking GCSE Maths exams since 2015. I taught mathematics in an 11-18 Secondary School In Liverpool between 2004 and 2009, teaching age ranges from Year 7 through to GCSE resit classes in Year 12 and 13. After leaving I worked as a supply teacher until around 2014 when I started tutoring. I have also taught/tutored A Level Maths for 2 years between 2021 and 2023

I have been tutoring for 10 years now and my aim is to provide the same approach to tutoring as I did in the classroom. A firm but fair approach with an easy going manner and reasonable expectations of pupils can do. I offer face to face tutoring in my local area or online via Microsoft Teams.
