Teaching Experience

  • Maths teacher at a grammar school for over 5 years (including 2.5 years as 2nd in department) before moving to one of the top private schools in the country for 1.5 years
  • Taught all ability levels from KS3 right through to A level Further Maths

I have been tutoring full time for the past 4 years.

Tutoring Approach

I believe everyone can succeed in maths, they just need the right support to build their confidence and understanding.

In my experience this is achieved through clear explanations and examples from the tutor coupled with plenty of practice questions. Having taught for over 7 years I have an excellent understanding of where students difficulties are likely to lie and thoroughly prepare every lessons in advance to gently tease out these misconceptions and cement understanding. I also give students questions on topics they have not seen for several weeks to help with memory retention and ultimately make revision easier.

Quite simply:

The more maths they do, the better they will get at it.

Feedback can be provided as often as you'd like.
