Teaching Experience

I have been working as a tutor for the past 13 years — teaching children as young as 5, helping KS2 pupils with their SATs and 11+ preparation, supporting GCSE and iGCSE students in both Maths and English (AQA, Edexcel and Eduqas exam boards), assisting adult learners to achieve their Functional Skills qualifications, and helping teaching assistants in both primary and secondary schools to strengthen their numeracy skills. I also had the privilege of delivering a Level 5 teacher training qualification in Maths at a college, advancing Maths teachers' classroom skills.

It is an absolute passion of mine to make Maths engaging, enjoyable and accessible. Never believe Maths isn't for you just because you feel you don't have those 'Maths brains' — let a good tutor show you its beauty and, trust me, in many cases its surprising simplicity.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching style is varied and adaptable, as I firmly believe everyone learns in their own unique way — and it is my job as a tutor to identify how you learn best and tailor every session to meet YOUR individual needs.

You will learn in a safe, non-judgmental and encouraging environment where every achievement is celebrated and every mistake is treated as a valuable learning opportunity.

I provide both 1:1 and group sessions (5–6 people, 12-week programmes) with a LOT of personalisation, mini video lessons, video marking and feedback, and termly 1:1 calls to discuss your progress. Group sessions are always a big success — I match people who are in exactly the same boat as you, creating a mini community of learning buddies who support each other and often build long-lasting friendships.

Elpi has been working with my son for a few months now. We have noticed a massive difference in my son's abilities, he can now read a lot better, is understanding basic concepts in English and his maths is improving.
