Sarah

Fully qualified teacher with vast teaching experience of 25+ years which includes being a KS5 Science Coordinator and Teacher Training Coordinator.

Specialist support for medical, dental and vet med students and Oxbridge candidates.

Wealth of experience in 1:1 tuition both online and in person over 20+ years which has been enhanced by 15+ years experience as an examiner for the exam boards at A level and GCSE.

I believe in building confidence and developing a love of learning unique to each student I work with to get the best outcomes.

Teaching Experience

I have taught in a variety of schools across the age and ability range from Yr7 to Yr 11 Biology,Chemistry,Physics and Combined Science for all exam boards including international students.

At Yr 12 and Yr13, I have taught A level Biology across all exam boards including international students.

Working as an examiner for the exam boards has given me an in depth knowledge of what an examiner is looking for and good exam technique to benefit my students.

Currently, I work full time as a profession tutor and have had many students go on to do degrees in subjects such as medicine, dentistry, optometry, biomedical sciences, marine biology, pharmacy and pharmacology.

Previous tutees have included students, mature students and graduates . Some students have had particular needs such as home educated students; dyslexic students and students who have missed a lot of school due to personal circumstances.

Tutoring Approach

I offer online tutoring which means I can offer tutoring in the comfort of your own home and anyway geographically.

I have a flexible approach to tutoring to suit each individual tutee. It maybe confidence that needs building; knowledge developing further or sorting out exam technique to obtain maximum marks.

Everyone is treated as an individual and I will work with the tutee to maximise their potential in a friendly and accessible way.

Sarah has only been coming for a couple of weeks, but so far we are extremley pleased. My daughter has recently sat an exam and she says the help that Sarah has given her definatley helped. If thats the case she's worth every penny.

Sarah is very reliable , really friendly and approachable. She always comes with prepared work to cover but happy to look at other stuff as pupil requests leading to flexible learning.

Sarah is always punctual, extremely reliable and has made learning enjoyable, giving our daughter more confidence. <br> Overall an very good teacher.

Sarah has been tutoring my daughter for approximately a year now. Selina has grown in confidence and is now able to apply exam techniques to all subjects she is studying, not just science. I feel this is due to the tutoring she has received from Sarah, which is constantly personalised to her needs. The support she receives is not only just during her lessons but any time she needs any extra support. Sarah is approachable and very knowledgable of examination techniques. She would be an asset to any student who is wanting to gain confidence and see improvements in their grades with the right focus and dedication.

Sarah helps with my daughter during school holiday. She is a very experienced science teacher and very kind. Highly recommended!

Sarah is a fantastic tutor, absolutely knows her stuff! She has fully engaged my daughter and helped her to achieve a higher grade, currently working at an A at A level, her knowledge and confidence is growing weekly. The take home information and emails she provides are outstanding. We highly reccomend her skills. Thanks Sarah

My daughter switched A levels just after Christmas and with the help of Sarah, has already caught up and is excelling!! When asked what feedback my daughter would give she said ‘ she is patient, explains everything so well and listens to my needs… she just great’ Nothing else needed from me!!

As a parent it's always a little daunting trying to find a tutor online. Sarah has ticked all the boxes: great communication, punctuality, interactive sessions but most importantly a son that is developing confidence about his ability. My teenage boy don't say much but after every session he's been so positive. He's happy so we are.
