🎓 Imperial College London & UCL: BSc First Class Honours, MSc, PhD 🏆 20,000+ hours Tutoring | 99% of students Improve by 2–5 Grades 📝 Examiner : A-Level Maths 🔬 Specialist in Maths & Science | GCSE · IGCSE · A-Level · 13+ · 16+ · Scholarship, 🎯Specialist in accelerated IGCSE maths 🏛️ Former Senior Quant Analyst: AllianceBernstein (Mayfair) & Investcorp 🎯 Free First Lesson for All New Students

I hold a BSc in Physics with First Class Honours, an MSc in Computing Science, both from Imperial College London, and completed doctoral research in Image Processing at UCL. Before moving into full-time tutoring, I spent 13 years as a Senior Quant Analyst at two of the most competitive institutions in the industry, AllianceBernstein in Mayfair, London, and Investcorp. These are top-tier firms that hire from a very small pool of mathematically exceptional candidates. My role involved building quantitative models for equity investment strategies, applied mathematics at the highest professional level.

My doctoral research, completed in collaboration with St George's Hospital, Tooting, involved developing an image processing method to objectively assess the severity of psoriasis, achieving an 80% success rate. The thesis was not submitted as this career move into investment banking with long working hours took precedence at the time.

I also have examiner experience for A-Level Maths. That means I know the papers your child sits inside out. I know exactly what examiners reward, where marks are dropped, and how answers need to be structured to score full marks.

Across over 20,000 hours of one-to-one tutoring, 99% of my students have improved, most by two grades or more, several by four or five. My students describe me as calm, endlessly patient, and highly professional. Parents note that their children come away from lessons more confident, more motivated, and genuinely more interested in the subject.

Teaching Experience

Over 20,000 hours of one-to-one tutoring, I have helped 99% of my students improve by 2 to 5 grades. I work with students from both the state and independent sectors, nationally and internationally, including those attending Eton College, Westminster School, St Paul's School, The Perse School, Cheltenham Ladies' College and King's College Cambridge.

International students experience working with families in the UAE, Saudi, Egypt, Qatar, China, Malaysia, Australia and the US.

Examples of Student Progress

Most of my students improve by at least two grades. Several have achieved results that stood out across their entire school or year group.

For example one parent wrote, "Asma has been a brilliant maths GCSE tutor for my daughter. Predicted a 5 in GCSE higher maths at the start of Year 11, she has come out with an 8. Her teachers feedback was that this was the greatest in-year increase in maths grades for any student across the entire school. "

**16+ and 13+ Entrance and Scholarship Exams Prepared students for 13+ entry to Eton (scholarship), Wellington College, and other leading independent schools. Currently preparing a second Eton scholarship candidate. I have also worked with students attending City of London, Westminster, St Paul's, The Perse, and Cheltenham Ladies' College.

**Accelerated IGCSE Maths experience: four Grade 9s across two countries "Four students, from the British School in Cairo and Abu Dhabi, have sat their IGCSE Maths a full year early with me, all achieving Grade 9."

The following parents' testimonials will highlight my expertise:

**Grade 9 and choosing A-Level Maths and Further Maths A student I worked with across maths and all three sciences outstripped his predictions by at least two grades in every subject, including a grade 9 in maths. He had no plans to take A-Level Maths, but left so confident in the subject that he signed up for both A-Level Maths and Further Maths at sixth form. His parent noted this was "testament to Asma's tutoring."

**Scraped a 6, near 8 in mocks six months later One student came to me having just scraped a 6. Six months later he was a few marks off an 8 in his GCSE mocks.

**Grade 2 to grade 6 in 8 months One Year 11 student came to me with a grade 2. Eight months later he achieved a grade 6 at GCSE, a four-grade jump. His mother wrote: "Without Asma's unwavering support, achieving a GCSE grade that is 4 grades higher than prior to starting with Asma in Year 11 would have been only a dream."

**A gifted student who wanted more One parent of a mathematically gifted 13-year-old wrote: "After a short while my son begged us to set up twice- instead of once-per-week sessions because he just couldn't have enough of her teaching." Science: confidence transformed

**One parent whose daughter had lost all motivation for science wrote: "After every lesson she said, 'Asma is amazing, she knows so much stuff.' She really enjoyed the lessons." Another parent noted: "Physics had always been a challenge for her, but with Asma's clear explanations, patience and encouragement, she is becoming more confident."

Tutoring Approach

Every student learns differently, and the right approach can dramatically accelerate progress, many of my students report noticeable improvement within 3 to 4 weeks.

I take time to understand both the academic gaps and the personality of each student, and tailor every lesson accordingly. My goal is not just good grades now, but building the independent study skills and self-belief that serve students long after our sessions end.

*My approach follows four steps:

  1. Diagnostic and Personalised Planning A diagnostic session identifies precisely where gaps lie. Combined with recent assessments and mock papers, this allows me to build a personalised plan that prioritises topics by urgency and maps a clear route to exam success. This is shared with the parents.
  2. Building Strong Foundations Exam technique without genuine understanding has very limited value. I focus first on mastering concepts from first principles using worked examples, diagrams and discussion. Homework is set throughout to consolidate learning.
  3. Developing Exam Technique and Independent Performance Once foundations are secure, sessions shift to structured exam-style practice. Students learn exactly how mark schemes work and what examiners reward. Every mistake is analysed so revision stays targeted and efficient.
  4. Final Revision, Retrieval and Exam Readiness In the final weeks, lessons become retrieval-based with mixed-topic questioning to strengthen long-term memory. as well as attempting more challenging questions.

We are incredibly grateful for the support and guidance Asma is provided to our daughter in physics. Her teaching is making a remarkable difference in our daughter's understanding and confidence with the subject. Physics had always been a challenge for her, but with Asma's clear explanations, patience, and encouragement, she is becoming more confident. What stands out most is how Asma tailors each lesson to suit her learning style, breaking down complex topics into manageable parts and always ensuring she truly understands before moving on. We couldn’t have asked for a better tutor and would highly recommend Asma to any parent looking for dedicated and effective support for their child.

My daughter loves working with Asma. She says that Asma always listens and makes my daughter feel much more confident. Asma provides focused help and support where it is most needed by tailoring her approach to the student's specific needs. She doesn't flood you with information which can sometime feel overwhelming with other tutors but gives practical tips and help and as my daughter put it: Asma answers my questions without judgement even if the questions are a bit stupid. She has made such a difference in my daughter's understanding of physics. Hopefully her GCSE grade will be the testament of this. I'm very happy that we found Asma.

Asma is the best educator and mentor my 13yo son could ever hope for. He's mathematically gifted and asked us to find someone who could help him take his skills to the next level. Asma's impressive academic background coupled with unique experience with applied maths caught our attention immediately. After the first lesson it became quite clear that her credentials just a part of what she has to offer. Asma has an incredible gift for explaining complex topics in a very digestible and entertaining way. She has expert knowledge of a plethora of maths topics and is always prepared to present the most fun and challenging ways to tackle those. After a short while my son begged us to set up a twice- instead of once-per week tutoring sessions because he just couldn't have enough of her teaching. Asma is an amazing professional, with great attitude, experience and talent for sparking interest and motivation in her students. We couldn't ask for a better tutor for our son.

Tutor response
