I’m a History and Politics teacher and GCSE History examiner with 17 years of teaching experience, including 9 years teaching at one of the country’s most successful grammar schools. I left the classroom after having my two children but have moved into tutoring as I love teaching and I love my subjects.

I have taught in a comprehensive, independent and most recently a state grammar school, teaching History across key stages 3-5 and Politics at Key Stage 5. I also have experience teaching Geography at Key Stage 3 and RE at Key stage 4. Since leaving the classroom I have tutored students online for History GCSE (including teaching the GCSE as a sole teacher to home educated students, as well as providing additional support outside of students' regular lessons), as well as History A level and A level Politics. Having taught at a very successful grammar school for nearly a decade, I have extensive experience with gifted and talented students aiming for the very highest grades. I have experience with students with various SEND needs, including dyslexia, processing issues, autism, and mental health difficulties, and am used to adapting my lessons to fit a students' specific requirements.

As a teacher I believe I have the right balance of being professional and approachable; I want my students to achieve to the best of their ability but I want them to enjoy lessons too! I can help with subject knowledge, exam technique and building confidence in these challenging subjects.
