Having seen my own children through their GCSE and A-level exams, I have personal experience of the anxieties these important years can cause both students and their parents. I am patient and motivated to see students achieve success as a result of hard work. I am happy to travel to students or the welcome them to my home in Wantage, Oxfordshire. I also deliver tutoring online via Google Meet and Microsoft Teams.

I am a qualified teacher with 30 years' experience of teaching Maths, tutoring primary and secondary school aged children and students taking GCSE exams. I currently teach maths and tutor students from Key Stage 1 through to GCSE and IGCSE; Functional Skills English and Maths for adult students and support GCSE and IGCSE resits. I am familiar with a variety of exam boards including AQA and Edexcel.

My role as tutor is to support the student on their maths journey. I endeavour to build their confidence by identifying gaps in their knowledge and addressing these as they arise. I encourage the student to dictate what we cover in each session. We often work closely alongside what they are learning at school to support deeper understanding. Sometimes we are able to work ahead to give students a good basis as a springboard for learning new topics at school. I also coach students in exam techniques and provide ample exposure to exam style questions right from the start. I believe in working in partnership with parents and the school and often ask for input from students’ teachers to provide the best support possible for each student as an individual.
