Hello, I'm Santhous, an experienced tutor specialising in Economics, Mathematics and German. I hold a BSc in Economics, Mathematics and Statistics from Queen Mary University of London and have accumulated over 15,000 hours of tutoring experience, teaching students from primary school through to undergraduate university level.

Having grown up in Germany before continuing my education in the UK, I understand both international and British education systems. I work with students studying GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, IB, Swiss Matura and university programmes, adapting every lesson to their individual syllabus and learning style.

I enjoy teaching because I genuinely like seeing students develop confidence in subjects they once found difficult. Whether you're aiming to pass an exam, achieve the highest grades or simply understand your course better, my goal is to make complex concepts clear, logical and approachable.

Over the past several years I have taught thousands of hours across Economics, Mathematics and German, supporting students studying GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, IB Diploma, undergraduate degrees and professional qualifications.

In Economics I teach both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, together with Business Economics, Econometrics and quantitative methods. I regularly support university students with coursework, dissertations, resits and exam preparation.

My Mathematics teaching ranges from school mathematics through to university Business Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Mathematics and Calculus. I also work with students studying accounting and finance-related modules where mathematical reasoning plays a significant role.

As a native German speaker, I teach grammar, speaking, writing, reading comprehension and exam preparation for both school and adult learners.

Before beginning with any university student, I spend dedicated preparation time reviewing lecture notes, tutorial sheets, past papers and module specifications. Every university and lecturer assesses differently, so tailoring lessons beforehand allows me to provide far more focused and effective support than a generic tutoring approach.

I believe students learn best when they understand why something works, rather than memorising methods without context. My lessons therefore focus on building genuine understanding first, followed by extensive application through guided examples and exam-style questions.

Every student receives a personalised learning plan based on their goals, current level and assessment requirements. I begin by identifying knowledge gaps before designing lessons that systematically build confidence and accuracy.

For examination students, I place significant emphasis on exam technique, common mistakes and efficient problem-solving. For university students, lessons are tailored closely to the structure of their module and lecturer's expectations.

I teach online using Google Meet together with an iPad Pro, Apple Pencil and GoodNotes, allowing every solution, diagram and explanation to be written live during the lesson. Students can ask questions throughout the session, creating an interactive learning environment that is both engaging and highly effective.

Above all, my aim is to develop independent learners who leave each lesson with a deeper understanding, greater confidence and the ability to solve problems on their own.
