I’ve been taking lessons for a couple of months now and I’ve really enjoyed them so far. Alkisti is patient, supportive and explains everything clearly. I’ve learned a lot and understand the language much better now.

Alkisti is very communicative and well prepared for each lesson, her patience with the children whilst keeping them engaged is fantastic.

Both friendly and encouraging, I always enjoy my Greek lessons with Alkisti. She takes time to carefully prepare the lesson ahead and also sends me additional worksheets to complete when appropriate. I feel comfortable asking her even silly questions regarding the Greek language and feel I have improved significantly since beginning my lessons with her. I would highly recommend!

After 1.5 months of weekly lessons with Alkisti I already feel more confident. She is a great teacher, patient and uncritical, and has tailored the lessons well to my specific needs – I have some Greek vocabulary, but a lot of ingrained bad habits. Alkisti has provided very appropriate teaching materials, and we’ve gone back to basics on certain things – pronunciation, accents – which is helping a lot. I would definitely recommend Alkisti – so long as she is still available to teach me!

Travelling to Kefalonia yearly I wanted to learn the Greek language, which at 58 years old was very daunting, perhaps impossible, yet Alkisti’s teaching methods are faultless. If you are looking for someone to teach you a few phrases for your one off holiday this might not be for you. If you are serious about wanting to be fluent in the language then I can’t recommend Alkisti enough. She is extremely patient and understanding, never pushes you any further than what you are capable of after each lesson, she puts up with my inability to learn quickly which is totally my issue with taking things in (it’s an age thing). I must admit that as I have every lesson I think to myself ‘am I getting anywhere with this’ but then without realising I notice I can recognise written words in Greek, I can suddenly understand the alphabet and the vowels and the reason for the accents and where they should go… it’s not something you notice you are learning as you do each lesson but you realise later on with the next lesson that actually you are understanding and improving with every one. I’m far away from where I want to be but Alkisti is 100% going to get me there I’m certain of that.

I am delighted with Alkisti and her personal and patient approach in my lessons. The hour flies by and I really enjoy it, even if I am struggling. I can hghly recommend Alkisti.

Alkisti is a brilliant teacher and can highly recommend her. She is very patient and listens to my requests when needed. I really like her teaching approach and as a fellow teacher I know it works. Álkisti has been so helpful in building my confidence with the Greek language. She provides homework tasks that are engaging and fun and personalises additional materials if you ask for them. She’s also a very approachable and helpful tutor. Definitely recommend!

Alkisti has been my Greek teacher for a couple of months now. She is really excellent. Her teaching skills are superb. Her English and knowledge of English grammar is better than mine! This is really helpful as she can describe the similarities and differences between Greek and English grammar. She explains things really clearly and uses a variety of teaching methods and exercises to keep the lessons really interesting and to help me learn. When I started the lessons I had only basic speaking skills in Greek and my reading and writing skills and understanding of grammar was limited. However since starting the lessons my reading and writing skills as well as verbal skills have improved significantly together with my understanding of grammar. After each lesson, Alkisti helpfully records and sends me the new vocabulary that we cover and a variety of homework exercises. She is also really patient and explains and clarifies anything that I am finding difficult. I would have no hesitation in recommending Alkisti to anyone wishing to learn or improve their Greek.

Alkisti is an excellent teacher and creates a good rapport for learning - very warm, encouraging and attentive. Our online sessions are individually tailored for my particular learning needs and Alkisti provides an interesting mix of learning materials which has helped with my Greek enormously, including consolidating grammar and vocabulary. I'm really enjoying our lessons together but also am noticing a lot of progress. Would highly recommend.

I have had Greek lessons for the past two months and I would say that Alkisti is an excellent teacher. Her lessons are engaging and interesting and a variety of teaching methods are employed, which ensures my interest is maintained at all times. Alkisti is a native speaker of the language and her learning materials and explanations are really good - meaning that I have progressed a lot in a short space of time. If you are looking to learn some Greek then I don't think you will find anyone better than Alkisti.
