Private Biology and Chemistry Tutor in Pinner

STELLAR RESULTS, 10YRS EXPERIENCE, 100% grade 7-9, A/A*.

Academic Experience: SOAS University of London (Economics and Arabic, First Class Honours), Watford Grammar School For Boys (3 As during A Levels for Subjects taken at A2) Merchant Taylors' School For Boys, ((I)GCSEs - 8A*/A Achieved) Over a decade of one-to-one tutoring, I have worked with more than 185 students across thousands of hours of tuition, helping them achieve outstanding results — including grade 9s, A stars, and successful entry into some of the most selective schools in the country, including Merchant Taylors', Haberdashers', John Lyons', QE Boys, Watford Grammar and Aldenham.

My experience spans 11+ and 13+ entrance preparation, GCSE, IGCSE and A Level — across Mathematics, the Sciences, Economics and Arabic. I specialise in diagnosing gaps quickly, building bespoke practice materials, and using targeted past paper work organised by topic and question type to resolve recurring mistakes efficiently.

I maintain close, ongoing communication with parents throughout, ensuring the tuition is always precisely aligned to each student's needs. Tutoring is not a side career for me. Rather, it is my profession, my passion and my priority.

Teaching Experience

I am a full-time private tutor based in Pinner, Harrow, with over a decade of experience helping students across all stages of their education — from Primary, 11+ entrance preparation through to A Level and beyond.

Before tutoring became my career, I built experience across two professional fields — working as a Tax Accountant and subsequently as a Data Analyst at Uber's Central London headquarters. These careers sharpened my ability to think analytically, break down complexity and communicate ideas with clarity — skills I bring into every session I teach.

I was educated at Watford Grammar School for Boys and Merchant Taylors' School, where I was awarded the Hessey Divinity Prize for Academic Excellence. I went on to study Arabic and Economics at SOAS, University of London, graduating in the top 2% of my cohort. I understand firsthand what it takes to perform at the highest academic level — and I use that understanding every day with my students.

Outside of tutoring, I read widely in Psychology and Neuroscience, play football, and volunteer every Sunday as a Teaching Assistant at my local community centre. Teaching is not simply what I do — it is who I am.

Tutoring Approach

My approach begins with the student, not the syllabus. Before anything else, I take time to understand how each student thinks, where their confidence sits, and what is genuinely holding them back. Only then do I build a plan tailored specifically to them.

In sessions, I move from clear explanation to progressive questioning — starting with simpler problems to build confidence before working up to more complex material. Crucially, I ask students to explain concepts back to me in their own words, because real understanding sounds like confidence, not just correct answers. I also make extensive use of analogies, mnemonics and memory techniques to make difficult content genuinely stick.

Beyond the academic, I bring a holistic and nurturing approach to every student I work with. I believe wholeheartedly that a student who feels encouraged, seen and cared for will always outperform one who is simply drilled for results. Many of my students have gone on to achieve grades and placements that surprised even their parents — not because I worked them harder, but because I helped them believe they were capable of it.

I maintain regular, transparent communication with parents throughout, ensuring everyone is aligned and that progress is visible at every stage.
