Tutor Profile

Jasmeet

Private English and Maths Tutor in Coventry

I'm a fully qualified and certified teacher and I genuinely love what I do. Teaching isn't just my career, it's my passion, and I think children can feel that the moment they walk into a session. I'm patient, warm and endlessly enthusiastic, and I have a real knack for making children feel safe enough to try, make mistakes and try again.

I'm a naturally adaptive teacher. I read the room quickly, pick up on how a child is feeling and responding, and adjust my approach on the spot, whether that means slowing down, trying a completely different explanation, or finding a way to make something click through a game, a story or a real-life example. No two children learn the same way, and I never expect them to.

I take the time to really get to know each child, how they think, what makes them tick, what knocks their confidence and what makes their eyes light up. I have high expectations, but I deliver them with encouragement rather than pressure. I want every child I work with to leave not just knowing more, but believing in themselves a little more too.

Teaching Experience

I'm a qualified primary school teacher with over ten years of classroom experience and six years of private tutoring, working with children and young people aged 5 to 16. I specialise in KS1 and KS2 but have successfully prepared many students for the 11+ and for their GCSE's, with a strong track record of raising attainment and building confidence.

I believe every child has potential, my job is to help them find it.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is simple, get to know the child first, everything else follows from there. Before I think about content or targets, I want to understand how they learn, where their confidence is and what's been getting in the way. Once I know that, I can pitch sessions at exactly the right level and adjust as we go.

I keep sessions structured but flexible. I have high expectations, but I'm never rigid, if something isn't working, I'll find another way in. I use a range of approaches to keep things fresh and I'm always looking for that moment when something finally clicks.

Progress matters, but so does enjoyment. If a child dreads their tutoring session, we've already lost half the battle. I want them to leave feeling capable, confident and ready for more.
