I am a qualified secondary mathematics teacher with over sixteen years' experience providing private maths tuition from KS1 all the way through to GCSEs and A-Levels, and on into adult education. I also help students prepare for 11+ and other entrance exams. I have helped hundreds of students achieve excellent results in their GCSEs, A Levels or 11+. I estimate that I have provided over 10,000 hours of tuition. I have a PGCE in secondary mathematics and a degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Bath. I have taught at Ivybridge Community College and have worked at Plymstock School for over ten years providing one-to-one and small group tuition in addition to my private clients.
My passion and enthusiasm for the subject can be traced all the way back to my own school days; I achieved the top grades in mathematics for both GCSE and A Level, studied for additional qualifications (Statistics and Further Mathematics at GCSE and A Level respectively) and regularly took part in the UK Mathematics Challenge, receiving several ‘Best in School’ and gold certificates. My own children are now working their way through primary school and so I am actively involved in supporting them in their own mathematical adventures! I have an excellent track record in helping students meet or exceed their targets, backed up by glowing testimonials from parents. I have QTS status and DBS clearance and am happy to show all certificates/testimonials on request.
