Tutor Profile

I'm a Humanities teacher with eight years' experience teaching in inner-London secondary schools. I currently Philosophy covering GCSE and A-levels but am also experienced in teaching History to GCSE and supporting with University applications. I'm really passionate about helping students genuinely understand and enjoy the content they're studying.

Teaching Experience

I've taught RS and Philosophy & Ethics across the full range of ability, from students new to the subject to those aiming for top grades and university applications in Philosophy, Theology or related fields. I've prepared students for GCSE and A-level exams and worked closely with students who struggle with essay structure and argument-building, which tends to be the biggest barrier at this level. I also have extensive experience marking for exam boards at both GCSE and A level.

Tutoring Approach

My main focus in teaching/tutoring is building strong written skills: structuring an argument clearly, using evidence and scholarly views effectively, and writing with the kind of precision examiners are looking for. I work through this with past paper questions, step-by-step essay planning and regular practice writing, with honest, specific feedback so students can see exactly what to improve each time.
