Hi, I'm Phil, a full time science teacher and part time tutor. I am Head of Physics at a school in North Devon

I have taught science to all abilities for 30 years, mostly in the same school. I teach all of the science subjects, combined science and all three separate sciences.

I have tutored successfully for 8 years with many of my tutees far exceeding their predicted grades. I am new to this platform.

I am also a senior examiner for a major exam board (12 years), leading teams on combined science and physics

My students say that I am kind and compassionate, but still with high standards. My long years of teaching experience ensure that I know to help students of all abilities reach their potential, and my examiner experience allows me to pinpoint exactly what is needed to close gaps in knowledge and get the best results possible.

My tutoring is highly adaptable and can vary according to requirements. I have been asked to provide highly focussed exam revision support, pre-teaching of topics, support for underachieving students following mocks, or even enrichment sessions beyond the scope of the curriculum.

For online tutoring I will operate a tailored virtual classroom environment, mixing live teaching via video link with screenshared resources and both live video and simulated demonstrations. Each lesson is bespoke to the student's needs.
