Hi, I’m Henry! I just graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Classics. I know Latin and Ancient Greek. I have a particular interest in studying Vergil, Caesar, Pliny the Younger, and Euripides. Given my research background, I am very experienced in writing academic papers. I have tutored many students to help them with formatting research papers, tightening up their prose, and teaching students how to perform a close reading of a text for their English class.

I tutored through Yale’s Center for Language Tutoring in Latin and Ancient Greek; I have also been a Teaching Assistant for an advanced college Ancient Greek Course, "Poetry of Illness." I have extensive experience explaining grammatical functions, and I have some great tips for handling what at first seems like an overwhelming amount of vocabulary! My research focuses on the reception of Ancient Medical texts. I specialize in tutoring Latin and Greek for GCSEs and A Levels.

The most challenging part about learning Latin or Ancient Greek is juggling the large amount of vocabulary and grammar. I use an active approach to teaching these concepts. I have built a curriculum where I teach (at any level) and reinforce these concepts through active reading and composition. I also have specific tricks and strategies for dealing with the crazy amount of vocabulary, including ways to generate online flashcards automatically.
