Hi! I’m Leon, and I recently graduated from Imperial College London with a First-Class MSci degree in Physics. Throughout my education, I have developed a deep understanding of Mathematics and Physics. I achieved A*/A grades across my GCSEs and A-levels, including the highest mark in my cohort in A-Level Further Mathematics. I now enjoy helping students build strong foundations that allow them to tackle more challenging concepts with confidence.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy staying active through running, cycling, and going to the gym. I also enjoy playing chess, which has strengthened my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. In my free time, I like mixing electronic music with friends, as it’s a great creative outlet and a fun way to unwind.

During my A-levels, I spent 1.5 years working for an in-person tutoring company, teaching Mathematics to students aged 4-16. This experience gave me the opportunity to work with a wide range of ages and abilities, helping me develop the ability to adapt my teaching style to suit each student's individual needs.

Since starting university, I have spent 4 years working as a private tutor for GCSE, A-level and International Baccalaureate (IB) students in Mathematics and Physics. During this time, I have helped students build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and achieve strong results in their exams. Every student I have worked with has successfully passed their exams, with many exceeding their initial expectations.

I am experienced in supporting students across a range of Maths and Physics qualifications, including GCSE, A-level the International Baccalaureate (IB), 11+ entrance exams, and the Physics Aptitude Test (PAT). My combination of academic achievement and practical teaching experience allows me to provide both subject expertise and guidance on effective exam preparation.

Communication is the most important factor in my teaching approach; by creating an open and supportive environment, I help students build confidence and reach their full potential. Lessons are student-focused, with a strong emphasis on identifying and improving areas of weakness. With careful preparation, we will work through each topic thoroughly, ensuring students develop a deep understanding before moving on. After every lesson, practice questions will be set to reinforce learning and build confidence.

Online lessons are primarily conducted through Zoom, using an interactive shared whiteboard. This allows both myself and students to actively work through problems together, sharing our thought processes and approaches in real time. I can see how students are tackling questions, identify misconceptions as they occur, and provide immediate guidance. Students are also given access to the completed whiteboard after each lesson so they can review explanations and revisit topics independently.

For exam-focused lessons, I help students understand how to approach different question styles, break down challenging problems, and develop effective exam techniques through targeted practice. I also guide students towards reliable resources to support independent study outside of lessons.

My aim is to match the pace and learning style of every student, creating a comfortable environment where they can ask questions, develop confidence, and become increasingly independent learners!
