Hi, I’m Sara, a private tutor and graduate of The University of Cambridge with a degree in English Literature. Over the past 7 years of tutoring I have worked with students as young as Year 1 all the way up to university admission; I’ve helped students gain entry to some of the most competitive schools in the country, and to achieve top grades in their secondary school education.

I have experience teaching students as young as 5 years old up to those studying for their GCSEs. I teach general primary English and maths, as well as specialising in 11+ application across all subjects (English, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, interview preparation). I have supported students applying for both consortium and non-consortium schools and across a range of school requirements, from adaptive testing to multiple choice to longer form written assessment; I have a detailed knowledge of different test requirements and a large bank of resource materials. I also teach secondary English language and literature up to year 11.

I pride myself on the learning environment I foster for my students. I myself struggled to connect with curriculum material at school until I was lucky enough to have an amazing teacher that truly changed the trajectory of my studies and education - I strive to be that person for my students, and inspire a genuine passion for the subject, which in turn always elevates their academic performance. I of course also tailor a scheme of work to each student’s individual needs, getting to know their personal interests and supporting with problem areas in a 1-1 setting that can often be hard to achieve at school. I always strive to keep parents involved with regular reports, and am always happy to chat after lesson time.
