I am a retired teacher of GCSE and A Level maths and physics. I am married with three grown-up children living in Essex for the past thirty eight years.

I have taught both A Level maths and A Level physics at a local private school. I have taught both subjects at GCSE and A Level standard privately for more than four decades. I have also in the past marked maths GCSE scripts for OCR.

When I have my first session my approach is to initially assess the level of the student at the same time as gaining their confidence in a relaxed atmosphere. We will usually spend time checking and revising the work they are currently doing in school unless it is directly before the exams when we may be looking at past papers. Overall the aim is to build confidence in the student so that they believe that they can master the subject.
