Private Entrance Exams and Economics Tutor in London

I am a private tutor and a secondary school Economics teacher who has undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from two leading Russell Group universities.

My students go on to secure excellent exam results and admission into outstanding universities.

I leverage my past experiences as a management consultant and as a Government Economist to make concepts engaging, thought provoking and 'real' for students.

My passion is getting learners to realise their full potential.

Teaching Experience

  • Economics teacher at a high-performing grammar school, teaching A Level Economics and GCSE Economics.
  • I completed my undergraduate degree at Warwick University in 2017 and earnt my Master's from King's College London in 2018. It was whilst studying at university that I first began private tutoring across GCSE and A Level Economics.
  • I cover everything from exam technique and essay evaluation skills to data response questions and full syllabus content.
  • I have had the privilege of completing over 800 hours of private tutoring. Through this I have helped over 40 students gain the real confidence in Economics that has translated to exceptional exam success.
  • Experienced and proficient with all major exam boards (OCR, AQA, Edexcel).
  • I have designed and delivered bespoke long-term tutoring programmes, including a structured four-year GCSE-to-A Level curriculum for individual students.
  • Over 90% of my past students exceeded their target grade.
  • I have experience of guiding students who were predicted a 'C' grade in their A-Levels, supporting them to eventually achieve an 'A' in their final A-Level Economics exams.
  • Specialist in university admissions, with dedicated experience in preparing students for TARA (used by Oxford University and UCL).
  • Provide personal statement drafting advice and Oxbridge interview preparation. This includes running mock interviews for popular courses such as Economics and Management, Economics, and PPE.

Tutoring Approach

  • I create a supportive, pressure-free environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, because that's often where the real learning happens. Key to this is taking the time to understand each student as an individual, adapting my encouragement and feedback style to what motivates them best.
  • I genuinely invest in my students' progress, celebrating their wins and helping them push through challenges with consistent, honest encouragement.
  • I prioritise analytical and evaluative thinking over rote memorisation, helping students construct genuine exam-ready argumentation rather than simply recalling facts.
  • I draw on real-world case studies, encouraging students to identify and apply concepts independently rather than have them handed over.
  • Every session is tailored to the student's specification and goals, whether that's sharpening exam technique for GCSE/A Level or developing reasoning skills for university admissions tests.
  • Progress is tracked against clear milestones, with pace and focus adjusted based on each student's individual strengths and weaknesses.
  • My teaching provides focussed techniques for exam success, be that constructing analytical chains of reasoning or developing effective evaluations for longer essay questions. This ensures students feel confident, calm and equipped when stepping into the exam hall.
  • I talk students through what the mark schemes actually mean and what the examiners are really looking for. I work through past papers alongside my students, so they know how to secure the highest marks.
  • Lessons are designed to be interactive and thought-provoking, encouraging students to debate, question, and defend their reasoning rather than passively absorb information. I want my students to enjoy the process of learning with me.
